The Art Of Science

In Uncategorized on June 8, 2010 by Sukrit

Princeton University’s fourth annual “Art of Science” exhibition features scientific imagery focused on the theme of energy. Needless to say, the result were some jaw-dropping images.

The photo shows a plume from a Hall-effect thruster, which uses magnetic and electric fields to ionize and accelerate propellant in a Xenon plasma accelerator.

In typical geek style, the amounts of the prizes are derived according to the golden ratio, a mathematical proportion that has been found in aesthetically pleasing designs ranging from seashells to ancient Greek temples.
