After reading Dostoevsky’s Idiot, I needed a brief respite so i decided to change genres. I read a book titled Jesus by Walter Wangerin Jr. I had bought the book a year ago at a sale in London for about 60 bucks but never came about to actually reading it. Turns out its a pretty nicely written book weaving together different elements of the bible.
The book follows the journey of Jesus Christ from his birth to Mary at Nazareth to his rise in Judea and eventual fall at Jerusalem. The book has breathed life into the characters of the bible and depicted the story of Jesus Christ as seen by one of his first apostles. The book serves as a great introduction to the life of one of the most historically significant characters in human history. For someone not accustomed to the bible the book is the ideal place to start.
I have given some thought to religious beliefs recently specially those relating to Christianity. I will write more about it soon specially about the betrayal of Jesus by Judas Isacriot. I would also recommend the Lost Gospel. It gives the account of the finding of the the mythical, lost Gospel of Judas. More later.
PS: I am suffering from a calamity. Yesterday my fridge broke down and hasnt been repaired yet. No Coke and No ice. Life is tough.
